From time to time here at YWAM Mazatlan we have people join our ministry as Mission Builders (short term volunteers). This is an excellent opportunity for people who want to volunteer their time at the base, without having done a Discipleship Training School, which is a prerequisite for full-time staff. Mission Builders are a HUGE blessing to us as they free up our staff to serve in the specific areas they are called to, not to mention that we just love having new people here! Come on down and discover for yourself the fun of serving a ministry committed to helping young people know God and make Him known.
Mission Builders International is a volunteer placement branch of YWAM, which helps people from all over the globe get their hands into missions! Wether you'd like to come serve for a few days to a few months, you'll be playing a crucial part in our mission! It's the perfect chance to be on the frontline, and help us in sending people all over the world to share the gospel.
While you're here you can also participate in our weeks ministry times! Corporate times such as worship and intercession, and also every Thursday we have ministries in the afternoon. Those Thursdays are meant to serve the city in whatever way we've felt led! Ministries such as soccer clubs, hospitals visits where we pass out food and prayer, homework clubs, surf and skateboarding clubs, bringing food to the homeless and the immigrants trying to make their way to America, and a few more. It's an incredible to get to know and serve our beautiful city! It's also a great way to check out our Discipleship Training Schools.

The City of Mazatlan
Mazatlán is situated on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, almost directly across from the tip of the Baja peninsula. Because it was a city long before it became a beach resort, Mazatlan is less touristy than some of its neighbors on what the cruise industry calls the Mexican Riviera. The city has a rich history and culture all its own and expressions of these can be seen throughout the year in a variety of festivals and cultural exhibits.
Though Mazatlan offers great transportation options, it’s also a great city to walk in. Because it’s an older city, it was built to cater to foot traffic, not cars. Thus, walking can be a very enjoyable experience. All of our staff and students take advantage of the great beachfront walkway that strolls for some 13 miles!
Our base is located in the historic heart of the city, so its a beautiful location to be in. We’re just around the corner from the beach and a 15 minute stroll from the downtown “Centro” market area. There are also many restaurants, scenic spots, and coffee shops within easy reach and a good bus line that connects us with the other amenities of the city, such as grocery stores, movie theaters, and a shopping mall.
