- i did my dts here in mazatlan last september, traveling throughout mexico for my outreach phase. it totally rocked my world and broke my heart once again for missions. it was at the end of outreach that i felt God calling me to stay for longer than i had planned in mazatlan, joining the team of staff here in ywam. after prayer, i knew that it was right, and that God wanted me here for at least one more year to further open my eyes and see how He moves and works. so now i'm on staff! currently i'm in charge of the hospitality department which entails; writing rosters, cleaning and preparing rooms for visitors and visiting teams, birthdays, base events, every room on base and all that falls under that, and more. it's a great job! busy, hectic, crazy at times...but rewarding and fun. :)

Summer Teams 2010!
Well, this summer has been pretty busy! So far, we have already had two teams...one team from Melbourne, Florida and another team from Indianapolis, Indiana. The first team was from Melbourne Calvary Chapel, which happens to be the Heather Madsen's home church. Their fearless leaders Julio and Mike, brought a new group of Middle Schoolers to Mazatlan, Mexico to minister in the colonias and do some evangelism at the Dolphins/ Flagpole area. Hope for Haiti
In light of everything that has been going on in Haiti after the earthquake, Haiti has truly been on our hearts. After the hurricanes there in 2008, we sent an outreach team to work with the YWAM bases in the country. They had the opportunity to serve the YWAMers and Haitian people, help with hurricane relief work, and make lasting connections with the people of Haiti. Then, in the May of 2009, we received an outreach team from YWAM Haiti St. Marc that stayed with us for a few weeks. They shared…Carnaval 2010!
Well, Carnaval is just around the corner and we are getting pumped for another year of celebrating God's love by reaching out to all the party-goers of Mazatlan's annual Carnaval. The festival begins on February 11th and ends on the 16th. There is a lot to plan, so we will keep you posted as it all unfolds. The outreach team in Mexico City has been busy reaching out to the masses in bold and relevant ways. They have seen God's hand at work through the joining of churches uniting together to reach out to the people of their city and they have had the chance to help the Haitian embassy in Mexico after the earthquake in Haiti.
