About Me
I am currently living in the United States and am teaching Spanish full-time in the public school system here. I have been praying about coming back to YWAM Mazatlan to be on staff again for the last four years and I believe that next summer is the time. June 2010 here I come! I am also in the middle of writing a book about my experiences in YWAM and what the Lord has done in my life through YWAM and throughout the last 10 to 15 years of being a Christian. I hope someone will read it!

Spending A Feliz Navidad en Mazatlan

I am so looking forward to spending Christmas this year in Mazatlan. I have only spent one other Christmas in Mazatlan and that was on my DTS in 2004, it was the most incredible Christmas too...if I remember correctly. I remember I went to Tony's house and we ate with his family a traditional mexican Christmas dinner at midnight on Christmas Eve, I remember drinking atole, busting piñatas in the street and dancing all night long with Tony's grandma to the tune of Cotton-Eyed Joe in Spanish. What… Continue

Counting Down!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am counting down the days (20 to be exact!) until I am in the "HOLY LAND" again! Mazatlan! It has been such a journey for me to get to the place that I am right now. I am still on a major journey because I still have a ways to go until I officially arrive in Mazatlan again as a full-time missionary and "son" of my Father's Kingdom in Mexico, but I will get there...I have never had such peace yet such turmoil in my heart about so many things at one time! Go… Continue

Excerpt from my Book...Curtains, Cake and the Cross

Here is an excerpt from the book I am writing about my experiences as a Christian and my experiences as a YWAM Missionary in Mexico during DTS, my outreach and while on Staff. My hope is that someday it will be published and someone will read it and get something out of it. If not, it was great therapy writing it all out. Anywho...here is a piece from the first chapter.:

I glanced at the computer screen again to make sure of what I had just read. “How did you get our email address?,” Heather, t… Continue

Finally Figured how this Website thing!

Well, I finally figured out this website things in the YWAM Mazatlan site. I seriously only been working on this website for like 2 hours! Don't laugh! I know it is pretty user friendly but...I wanted mine to look cool and well, it doens't but that is totally OK. It looks alright. Anyway, I have been praying about coming back on staff for a really long time. I am finally going to just do it. I am going to go back to teaching this fall and for all of next year, unless the Lord really speaks to me… Continue

Summer Teams 2010!

Well, this summer has been pretty busy! So far, we have already had two teams...one team from Melbourne, Florida and another team from Indianapolis, Indiana. The first team was from Melbourne Calvary Chapel, which happens to be the Heather Madsen's home church. Their fearless leaders Julio and Mike, brought a new group of Middle Schoolers to Mazatlan, Mexico to minister in the colonias and do some evangelism at the Dolphins/ Flagpole area. What an amazing group of young people they were! All

Building Strong Foundations...

The coffee and cookies were served, people were seated, and as the call for sharing homework was made, shy whisperings and laughter were heard around the room. It was the third week of meeting together with the married couples of Colonia Sinaloa. Each week the co…

Hope for Haiti

In light of everything that has been going on in Haiti after the earthquake, Haiti has truly been on our hearts. After the hurricanes there in 2008, we sent an outreach team to work with the YWAM bases in the country. They had the opportunity to serve the YWAMers and Haitian people, help with hurricane relief work, and make lasting connections with the people of Haiti. Then, in the May of 2009, we received an outreach team from YWAM Haiti St. Marc that stayed with us for a few weeks. They shared…

Carnaval 2010!

Well, Carnaval is just around the corner and we are getting pumped for another year of celebrating God's love by reaching out to all the party-goers of Mazatlan's annual Carnaval. The festival begins on February 11th and ends on the 16th. There is a lot to plan, so we will keep you posted as it all unfolds. Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare for the event.

Mexico City Outreach

The outreach team in Mexico City has been busy reaching out to the masses in bold and relevant ways. They have seen God's hand at work through the joining of churches uniting together to reach out to the people of their city and they have had the chance to help the Haitian embassy in Mexico after the earthquake in Haiti. They have had opportunities to work in two different high schools where they have been able to go into the classrooms and share all about God and the importance of knowing Him.…
