Glad to be settled in in Mexico City after 21 hours of buses, metros, more buses, and walking around getting lost.....

Currently On Staff, Did a DTS here

About Me

So.... I did my DTS here in YWAM Mazatlán in the fall of 2006, went to Spain and Morocco for my outreach, and came back on staff right afterward. I love Mexico, different nations and cultures and languages, going out for coffee, discipleship, hugs, bare feet, missions, singing, playing my piano, chocolate, and pouring rain! I can't even imagine doing anything with my life that doesn't involve missions in some way. On the base I have done all kinds of different jobs--everything from running the kitchen, to leading worship, to working with DTSes and outreach teams, to working with our Homes of Hope program. Currently I really feel God calling me to Mexico City; He has given me a passion and love for this city and its people (especially the youth) and I hope to be able to make it there in the next couple of years. God is SOOOO good and faithful and I couldn't ask for a better life :)

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

It's beginning to loook a lot like Christmas here in Mazatlan! It's so exciting to see the Christmas lights and Christmas trees and Christmas decorations and everything else Christmasy!!! Even though it's still in the 70's and there's no snow, this year it still seems like Christmas to me! It's pretty cool that we're going to have the DTS here this year to celebrate with us. Usually they leave before Christmas for their outreaches, but this year they decided that Christmas would be SO much bette… Continue

Verano de Fuego

So I just finished an intense month of working with our summer youth internship, Verano de Fuego. It was seriously one of the most incredible months with seeing our 17 Mexican students lives transformed, people saved, others healed, prayers answered, and fire falling from the heavens! It was definitely a hot Summer of Fire!!!! We stayed here, in Mazatlan, for the first 2 weeks learning about God's character, Evangelism, World Missions, Hearing the Voice of God, and many other great topics. I eve… Continue

MY DREAM: MEXICO CITY

My dream is to go to Mexico City and work with youth from all different churches and backgrounds and callings, and bring them together as one body in Christ.......A little over 2 years ago God started speaking to me about the need for YWAM to start something in Mexico City. At that time, I was just on my DTS, just learning how to hear God's voice, just realizing that He had bigger plans for me than I had for myself, and I had NO IDEA what I was stepping into. I didn't think that God was speaking… Continue

I'm so excited...Have you left Mazatlan already?

Summer Teams 2010!

Well, this summer has been pretty busy! So far, we have already had two teams...one team from Melbourne, Florida and another team from Indianapolis, Indiana. The first team was from Melbourne Calvary Chapel, which happens to be the Heather Madsen's home church. Their fearless leaders Julio and Mike, brought a new group of Middle Schoolers to Mazatlan, Mexico to minister in the colonias and do some evangelism at the Dolphins/ Flagpole area. What an amazing group of young people they were! All

Building Strong Foundations...

The coffee and cookies were served, people were seated, and as the call for sharing homework was made, shy whisperings and laughter were heard around the room. It was the third week of meeting together with the married couples of Colonia Sinaloa. Each week the co…

Hope for Haiti

In light of everything that has been going on in Haiti after the earthquake, Haiti has truly been on our hearts. After the hurricanes there in 2008, we sent an outreach team to work with the YWAM bases in the country. They had the opportunity to serve the YWAMers and Haitian people, help with hurricane relief work, and make lasting connections with the people of Haiti. Then, in the May of 2009, we received an outreach team from YWAM Haiti St. Marc that stayed with us for a few weeks. They shared…

Carnaval 2010!

Well, Carnaval is just around the corner and we are getting pumped for another year of celebrating God's love by reaching out to all the party-goers of Mazatlan's annual Carnaval. The festival begins on February 11th and ends on the 16th. There is a lot to plan, so we will keep you posted as it all unfolds. Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare for the event.

Mexico City Outreach

The outreach team in Mexico City has been busy reaching out to the masses in bold and relevant ways. They have seen God's hand at work through the joining of churches uniting together to reach out to the people of their city and they have had the chance to help the Haitian embassy in Mexico after the earthquake in Haiti. They have had opportunities to work in two different high schools where they have been able to go into the classrooms and share all about God and the importance of knowing Him.…
