From time to time here at Ywam Mazatlan we have people join our ministry as Mission Builders. This is an excellent opportunity for people who want to volunteer their time at the base, without having done a Discipleship Training School, which is a prerequisite for full-time staff. Mission Builders are a HUGE blessing to us as they free up our staff to serve in the specific areas they are called to, not to mention that we just love having new people here!! Come on down and discover for yourself the fun of serving a ministry committed to helping young people know God and make Him known.
As a Mission Builder, you will be mixing and living with the students on our Training Schools, the staff of YWAM Maz and other Mission Builders. Making life-long friends won't be hard.
Because we value community here at Ywam Mazatlan, we want you to take part in our weekly base gatherings. These include all our Worship/Intercession times, Evangelism and special events such as DTS graduations.
Mission Building is a great way to check out our DTS programs and all our other ministries here at Ywam Mazatlan.
There are a handful of areas at our base, which need the greatest help. Depending on your skills you may be asked to serve in the Kitchen, with Maintenance, in our Media-IT dept, or with Office Administration/Data entry. Some of our biggest needs at the moment are:

Mazatlan has a small, International airport located 30 minutes outside of town. Transportation to and from the airport will be provided.
Everyone entering México must hold a valid Passport with an expiry date of no less than 6 months. Visas will be issued to you upon your arrival at customs.
June - August. Mazatlan will be hot and steamy. Temps are in the lower 90's F or 30's C with high humidity. Night temps never drop below 70 F or 22 C. You'll enjoy cooling down in the middle of the day, or at the end of it, in our ocean water. It's always refreshing.
Mazatlán is situated on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, almost directly across from the tip of the Baja peninsula.
Because it was a city long before it became a beach resort, Mazatlan is less touristy than some of its neighbors on what the cruise industry calls the Mexican Riviera. The city has a rich history and culture all its own and expressions of these can be seen throughout the year in a variety of festivals and cultural exhibits.
Though Mazatlan offers great transportation options, it's also a great city to walk in. Because it's an older city, it was built to cater to foot traffic, not cars. Thus, walking can be a very enjoyable experience. All of our staff and students take advantage of the great beachfront walkway that strolls for some 13 miles!
Our base is located in the historic heart of the city, so its a beautiful location to be in. We're just around the corner from the beach and a 15 minute stroll from the downtown "Centro" market area. There are also many restaurants, scenic spots, and coffee shops within easy reach and a good bus line that connects us with the other ammenities of the city, such as grocery stores, movie theatres, and a shopping mall.
