  • Reflection area
  • Prayer room
  • Social area/Café with wireless internet and entertainment
  • Sports area
  • Greeting and check in area
  • Special event and enhanced dining area for up to 300 people
  • Industrial kitchen
  • Administrative office space for YWAM Mazatlan staff and volunteers
  • Parking
  • Increased storage

The Current Reality

That's our vision for the new property. However, we aren't there yet. At present we have moved in, but due to financial and labor limitations, we are still a long ways from where we want to be. Please keep checking here to see where we are at and if God lays it on your heart to support us in any way, we'd love to hear from you!!

Currently we have:

  • A rough reception area
  • A partially industrial kitchen with sanitizing dishwasher and water purifier (thanks to recent donations).
  • Accommodations for 90 people max along with two guest rooms for visiting speakers.
  • An outdoor dining area on the back patio that can only hold up to 100 people, less in the summer heat.
  • A limited amount of parking and storage space.
  • At this point we don't have any meeting rooms. As the finances come in, we hope to build a lecture room for our growing training schools, which are currently holding lectures in one of the old hotel rooms or outdoors in the backyard "secret place."
  • A recently renovated office that now holds 8-10 staff.
  • A beautiful recently renovated prayer room.
  • Wireless internet (most of the time) and a hang out area set up in the breezeway, but it could still use some furniture and special touches to make it a relaxing area for staff and students to hang out
  • At this point we don't have a sports area, though we have set up the Remnant skate ramps in our parking area at street level a few times.

Property Renovation Updates

Industrial Kitchen - Since purchasing the property and moving in on October 1, 2008, we renovated two first floor rooms to provide a partially-industrial kitchen area. We are working to transition the base into an industrial kitchen mindset through renovations, equipment, and tighter policies. During the initial renovations, one room was completely re-tiled and two industrial sinks were installed. With these improvements, the kitchen is being used for all base meals, however, there are many more additions that will need to be made to bring it up to full functionality.

Pool Area - Over the winter months, our maintenance guys drained the pool. It was a huge mess, but they scrubbed and scraped and, with the help of some serious acid, eventually got the pool tiles shining like new. Then, in February, we had a team from YWAM Newcastle Australia, come down and help us fix up the pool area. They scraped and painted the surrounding walls, dug out the old bushes, and planted fresh flowers in the surrounding planters. The whole area looks transformed.

Breezeway (hangout area) - The Jan 09 DTS took on the transformation of the breezeway as their faith project for the base. Due to the lack of space, the breezeway is the only area that people can hang out in, but it's very open and gets cold during the winter months. It's also pretty ugly and has ended up looking more like a wide hallway than a cozy place to spend your off time. The leader of the DTS drew up some plans for closing it in more and all the students chipped in to raise the money. They put new lights and electrical outlets in, painted the walls and ceiling, and cleaned up the clutter. Follow this link to read the news post about it.

Summer Teams 2010!

Well, this summer has been pretty busy! So far, we have already had two teams...one team from Melbourne, Florida and another team from Indianapolis, Indiana. The first team was from Melbourne Calvary Chapel, which happens to be the Heather Madsen's home church. Their fearless leaders Julio and Mike, brought a new group of Middle Schoolers to Mazatlan, Mexico to minister in the colonias and do some evangelism at the Dolphins/ Flagpole area. What an amazing group of young people they were! All

Building Strong Foundations...

The coffee and cookies were served, people were seated, and as the call for sharing homework was made, shy whisperings and laughter were heard around the room. It was the third week of meeting together with the married couples of Colonia Sinaloa. Each week the co…

Hope for Haiti

In light of everything that has been going on in Haiti after the earthquake, Haiti has truly been on our hearts. After the hurricanes there in 2008, we sent an outreach team to work with the YWAM bases in the country. They had the opportunity to serve the YWAMers and Haitian people, help with hurricane relief work, and make lasting connections with the people of Haiti. Then, in the May of 2009, we received an outreach team from YWAM Haiti St. Marc that stayed with us for a few weeks. They shared…

Carnaval 2010!

Well, Carnaval is just around the corner and we are getting pumped for another year of celebrating God's love by reaching out to all the party-goers of Mazatlan's annual Carnaval. The festival begins on February 11th and ends on the 16th. There is a lot to plan, so we will keep you posted as it all unfolds. Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare for the event.

Mexico City Outreach

The outreach team in Mexico City has been busy reaching out to the masses in bold and relevant ways. They have seen God's hand at work through the joining of churches uniting together to reach out to the people of their city and they have had the chance to help the Haitian embassy in Mexico after the earthquake in Haiti. They have had opportunities to work in two different high schools where they have been able to go into the classrooms and share all about God and the importance of knowing Him.…
