To reach the poor communities of Mazatlan through the building of Homes of Hope, transforming their ways of thinking through teaching Biblical principles of community development, working alongside the local church for discipleship.
Three years ago, while YWAM Mazatlan began working with local pastors, getting to know the poor communities where they were working, Edgar Morales began imagining how incredible it would be if someone could bring hope to these communities in desperate need through building homes. After sharing with the leaders, God asked him if he would be willing to step out in faith to begin this ministry - even with his lack of experience in construction. Now one of Edgar's strongest beliefs is that God is just looking for people willing to say yes!
The Homes of Hope ministry has been an adventure since the beginning, opening up opportunities to show the love and hope of God in a practical way to many people. The original goal of houses built in the first year was 3-5 homes. God surprised us with 15 houses the first year, and 22 the second year! God's hand of blessing over the ministry has been confirmed over and over again and we look forward to more dreams that God has!
