YWAM Mazatlan

Guidelines For Using This Site

To better manage everything that goes onto our website we would like to ask you two things. 1) If you upload non-ministry, non-YWAM related videos, please set them so only your friends can view them, and 2) Please be conscious of the people you invite as members to the site; we want to try to keep our members to people who are closely related to the base/ministry. Thank you for understanding.

Our desire at YWAM Mazatlan is to build a safe and friendly online community. Our expectations are that you as a member would be a beneficial influence here and so we have created some guidelines for you below.

Most of its common sense (and we know you're smart enough to know this) BUT every now and then people stop using their brain so in case that happens we want to be clear about what will be tolerated.

  1. Be positive in your communication with other members. If you need to communicate with others in a way that may come across as private or in any way confrontational please use the "Send Message" function.
  2. Don't harass or demean other members. Any racial, sexual, or intolerant remarks will result in instant banning
  3. Don't use this web site to advertise any businesses that you may or may not be involved in. If you're helping someone out by showing them where they can get (for example) cheap airfares then that's ok … just don't try to make money on here.
  4. Unless you are a current YWAM Maz staff member or student please don't ask for donations from other Members or site visitors. This includes links to donation pages or direct requests (i.e. please help me with my outreach fees).
  5. If you have any concerns with YWAM Mazatlan as an organization or any of our policies or procedures then please approach the people involved and try and work through these issues with them. (See Matthew 18:15-17) rather than uploading grievances directly to this web site.
  6. Don't upload any content on your web site that you don't have ownership of or isn't otherwise allowed through other licensing means. If in doubt leave it out.
  7. Don't upload content that isn't suitable for viewing or reading by the average 13 year old.
  8. Please help to keep this a safe and friendly place for everyone. If you see stuff here that isn't right then please report an issue using the link on the footer of every page.
  9. We love it when you customize your personal profile page to express yourself but we ask that you maintain the following elements on your page as visible, clickable, and in the original location
    1. The Ning Bar at the very top
    2. The YWAM Maz branding bar below the Ning Bar
    3. The right Margin (i.e. where the members show up)
    4. The Footer

Note: YWAM Maz reserves the right to restrict, decline, or ban any content that we deem inappropriate from the website without notice. We also reserve the right to ban without notice any member that we feel is not behaving appropriately on the website ... and we really don't like doing that, so just don't do it.

Summer Teams 2010!

Well, this summer has been pretty busy! So far, we have already had two teams...one team from Melbourne, Florida and another team from Indianapolis, Indiana. The first team was from Melbourne Calvary Chapel, which happens to be the Heather Madsen's home church. Their fearless leaders Julio and Mike, brought a new group of Middle Schoolers to Mazatlan, Mexico to minister in the colonias and do some evangelism at the Dolphins/ Flagpole area. What an amazing group of young people they were! All

Building Strong Foundations...

The coffee and cookies were served, people were seated, and as the call for sharing homework was made, shy whisperings and laughter were heard around the room. It was the third week of meeting together with the married couples of Colonia Sinaloa. Each week the co…

Hope for Haiti

In light of everything that has been going on in Haiti after the earthquake, Haiti has truly been on our hearts. After the hurricanes there in 2008, we sent an outreach team to work with the YWAM bases in the country. They had the opportunity to serve the YWAMers and Haitian people, help with hurricane relief work, and make lasting connections with the people of Haiti. Then, in the May of 2009, we received an outreach team from YWAM Haiti St. Marc that stayed with us for a few weeks. They shared…

Carnaval 2010!

Well, Carnaval is just around the corner and we are getting pumped for another year of celebrating God's love by reaching out to all the party-goers of Mazatlan's annual Carnaval. The festival begins on February 11th and ends on the 16th. There is a lot to plan, so we will keep you posted as it all unfolds. Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare for the event.

Mexico City Outreach

The outreach team in Mexico City has been busy reaching out to the masses in bold and relevant ways. They have seen God's hand at work through the joining of churches uniting together to reach out to the people of their city and they have had the chance to help the Haitian embassy in Mexico after the earthquake in Haiti. They have had opportunities to work in two different high schools where they have been able to go into the classrooms and share all about God and the importance of knowing Him.…
